Since the beginning of 2022, against the background of the withdrawal of European and American manufacturers from the Russian market, the KrioFrost group of companies has begun cooperation with the Chinese compressor manufacturer RefComp. This decision was a worthy response to the challenges facing the industry, despite the pessimistic forecasts of a number of experts.

«In just over three years of partnership, more than 1,000 RefComp reciprocating and screw compressors have been installed in refrigeration units manufactured at the TehnoFrost plant (part of the KrioFrost Group of Companies). At the same time, only one compressor out of the total number failed and was sent to a service center for subsequent repairs»,

Application of RefComp compressors in various industries
RefComp compressors have been used in more than 20 projects implemented by KrioFrost Group for various industries, including data processing centers (DPC), dairy and meat industry enterprises, multi-temperature warehouses, hypermarkets and ice arenas.

RefComp compressors at one of the largest Data Storage and Processing Center in Moscow
Chillers based on RefComp screw compressors were put into operation in one of the largest data centers in the capital in Medvedkovo. The total area of the data center is 20,000 m2, and it is designed for 16 machine rooms with a capacity of 312 standard racks each with a design capacity of 36 MW. The DPC meets the Tier III security level.

72 Tehnofrost liquid cooling units with an air condenser with a nominal capacity of 470 kW are installed at the facility. The chillers are equipped with a RefComp inverter screw compressor, electronic expansion valves and a built-in heat exchanger to implement the Free Cooling mode.
A large-scale project to equip a milk factory
One of the most significant projects can also be called equipping the milk factory in Chernyakhovsk, which has become the largest in the Kaliningrad region. The plant is capable of processing 350 tons of milk per day and produces butter, whole milk powder and skimmed milk powder. Two TehnoFrost compressor and receiver units based on RefComp reciprocating compressors with cooling capacities of 42 and 90 kW, as well as two water cooling stations based on RefComp screw compressors with a cooling capacity of 1.2 MW each, are installed at the facility.

The cooling system provides for maintaining the set temperature in medium- and low temperature chambers, and also provides ice water for technological needs.
VkusVill Distribution Center in Domodedovo
The 118,000 m2 multi-temperature warehouse has become VkusVill's largest distribution center in the Moscow region.

10 refrigerating units manufactured by TehnoFrost based on RefComp screw compressors are installed at the facility. The cooling capacity of the units varies from 270 kW to 1074 kW, which ensures the necessary temperature conditions in different areas of the warehouse.

The Domodedovo distribution center has become an important infrastructure element both for maintaining the further expansion of the VkusVill store network and for the company's development in the e-grocery segment.

RefComp compressors for ice arenas
The KrioFrost Group of Companies has also implemented projects for the construction of ice rinks with artificial ice, where TehnoFrost monoblock refrigeration units based on RefComp screw compressors provide for ice quality.

The cooling capacity of each unit is 312 kW. The skating rinks operate from November to March at air temperatures up to +7 °C.
Time-tested quality
RefComp was founded in 1991 in Italy and has since established itself as a reliable manufacturer of refrigeration equipment.
In 1995, Bitzer and RefComp began a close collaboration in which they jointly used advanced screw compressor manufacturing technologies. This cooperation lasted until 1998.
In 2008, the company created the world's first compressor with an integrated inverter, and in 2013 its assets were acquired by the Chinese company Fujian Snowman. This has led to a significant increase in sales of RefComp compressors on the global market.
After the acquisition of Snowman, the entire product line of the company was completely redesigned by Swedish SRM engineers. It is important to note that SRM is a company that received a patent for the invention of screw compressors back in 1936. Today, up to 90% of manufacturers of screw refrigeration compressors operate under the SRM license.
The experience gained by Swedish engineers has allowed us to create unique, sought-after and high-quality products. SRM specialists were directly involved in the design, construction and launch of technological lines at two RefComp plants in Fuzhou in 2014 and 2015.
Currently, Fujian Snowman Co., Ltd has five production bases and five international research centers. RefComp compressors appeared on the Russian market in the early 2000s and quickly gained popularity due to their high quality and reliability.
Cooperation for the benefit of industry development
The cooperation of the KrioFrost Group of companies with RefComp has become an important stage in the development of the Russian industrial refrigeration equipment market.
